Personality
On the surface, Mireille is coldly elegant and emotionally reserved, echoing the tendencies of her late mother. Underneath, however, Mireille hides a great deal of trauma, unease, and especially self-doubt about her position and her capability to fill her mother's place; and the Veil members closer to the top of the chain know it.
She inherited the command of the Rosette Veil at the young age of 19, following a civil war that broke out after the power vacuum left behind by Théophanie's sudden absence, split between preserving the founder's will and becoming mercenaries-for-hire. Mireille ended this conflict by taking up her mother's arms and duelling the opposing faction to the death, claiming victory and reasserting the Veil under the Ardana family name.
Around Astrid, Mireille is a lot more open and honest with her feelings, since Astrid's one of the only people she can trust and show weakness around.
Preferences
- Music: Mireille, having a sheltered childhood, didn't have the chance to experience a lot of different music genres. She primarily listened to the Rosette Veil's orchestra who were always present during her early years, later manifesting as an affinity for classical music.
- Food: Mireille isn't fussy with what she eats, usually going with whatever the chefs at the Veil end up cooking. Despite this, she has a mild distaste for fast food, claiming it "disagrees with her palate".
- Clothing: She predominantly wears formal clothing even in battle situations; her fashion sense isn't the most diverse due to her sheltered upbringing, though she's tried on Astrid's hoodies before.
Weapons
- Iris and Orchid: Dual sleek semi-automatic pistols with a ceramic-titanium body and programmable recoil and fire rate. Both pistols function differently; Iris is better at hyper-rapid fire and close range while Orchid is more adept with controlled long-range shots, though Mireille is capable of utilising both in sustained rapid fire. Can fire in elegant arcs or be set to ricochet in rhythm-based patterns.
Possessions
- Rosette Crest: The original core crystal used to power the Veil's headquarters’ dance floor. It pulses in sync with Mireille’s heartbeat when she enters combat.
- Prototype Combat Heels: Her mother's original pair, now retired, are displayed in a sealed chamber within her quarters. The heels are visibly cracked but still hum faintly with residual field charge.
- Diary of the First Petals: A slim codex containing profiles and memories of the seven women who formed the first circle of the Rosette Veil, handed down from her mother. She reads from it on the anniversary of the Veil's founding.
