Astrid Celestrixia

"Reality tried to handle a segfault. Let’s debug it together."

The living, breathing "compiler" of Lunacelerity – a transgender girl who self-styles herself as a "hacker-and-slasher", with her computer on her left arm and her sword in her right hand. Leader-in-Residence of Lymerose, the capital of Britannia Nova, and the "Maîtresse" to the girls of the Rosette Veil.

Personality

Astrid is highly intelligent and empathetic, with a great deal of care towards those she holds dear, and a strong sense of humour. Despite this, her autism causes her to struggle with social interactions and communication - she often finds herself to be socially awkward. However, when confronted with an enemy, she adopts a devil-may-care attitude and begins screwing around with them.

Astrid is also quite irreverent and somewhat vulgar - while she doesn’t use profanity per se, she uses other, less harsh expletives, such as “frick”, “bloody” and “damn”.

Astrid also has a much softer and affectionate side – she enjoys giving and receiving hugs and cuddles to and from her loved ones, and she absolutely loves getting patted on the head. She'd never admit it to anyone, though.

Stylish Rankings

During combat, Cyclica and Pangaea will synchronise and report on Astrid's combat performance, manifesting in the form of a Stylish Rank.

Stylish Ranks are hardcoded into PangaeaOS to be exactly like how it works in Devil May Cry. A letter grade, ranging from D to SSS, appears as a coloured hologram above her head.

Index

Astrid can assume the abilities of other characters, as long as she has at least a basic understanding of their fighting style. Due to her own fighting style, characters that wield swords are the easiest for her to adapt to.

To be able to Index a character, Astrid must first register their moveset inside Pangaea's codex, and then load up to four Indexes in Cyclica. These Indexes can be switched at will; they work like style switching and don't require any sort of setup or introduce any delay.

When Indexing the abilities of her loved ones - Alicia, Mireille or anyone else she holds dear, Full Affinity kicks in, allowing Astrid to fully adapt to their moveset and combat styles.
